macOS® es restrictivo

macOS® va contra las Cuatro Libertades Esenciales del Software Libre. No fomenta la ayuda colectiva ni compartir con los demás. macOS® es tan restrictivo, que la Sección 2A de la licencia, Apple, Inc. Software License Agreement for macOS Mojave, sólo le permite instalar, usar y correr una (1) copia del software de Apple en una sola computadora de marca Apple en cualquier momento dado.

2. Permitted License Uses and Restrictions.

A. Preinstalled and Single-Copy Apple Software License. Subject to the terms and conditions of this License, unless you obtained the Apple Software from the Mac App Store, through an automatic download or under a volume license, maintenance or other written agreement from Apple, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive license to install, use and run one (1) copy of the Apple Software on a single Apple-branded computer at any one time. For example, these single-copy license terms apply to you if you obtained the Apple Software preinstalled on Apple-branded hardware.

2. Permitted License Uses and Restrictions.

J. Other Use Restrictions. Except as otherwise permitted by the terms of this License or otherwise licensed by Apple: (i) only one user may use the Apple Software at a time, and (ii) you may not make the Apple Software available over a network where it could be run or used by multiple computers at the same time. You may not rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute or sublicense the Apple Software.

K. Backup Copy. You may make one copy of the Apple Software (excluding the Boot ROM code and other Apple firmware that is embedded or otherwise contained in Apple-branded hardware) in machine-readable form for backup purposes only; provided that the backup copy must include all copyright or other proprietary notices contained on the original. Apple Boot ROM code and firmware is provided only for use on Apple-branded hardware and you may not copy, modify or redistribute the Apple Boot ROM code or firmware, or any portions thereof.

Vea en el Canal de YouTube de Louis Rossman, un vídeo en el cual se describe cómo La Sra. Jessa Jones fue bloqueada en los foros de Apple por escribir que los teléfonos móviles iPhone se pueden reparar y que se le puede rescatar la data en 95% de las ocasiones. Según la Sra. Vea la campaña Defective by Design (Traducción al Español) del Free Software Foundation, acerca de las desventajas del DRM. En pocas palabras, significa que ciertos formatos de medios creativos no se pueden reproducir en equipos que no sean autorizados. Esto incluye, pero no se limita a música, películas, libros, entre otros.
